Spanish language immersion school
Name of school:Instituto de Español Rayuela
Dates of attendance:July 2011
School's city and country:Buenos Aires, Argentina
I was very disappointed in this school. Having attended other schools throughout Central America and one in Buenos Aires I can honestly say that this one was my least favourite. The school is too small to adequately place each student. I was placed in a group that was doing a lot of rote grammar learning at a level I had already completed. Pointing this out to the director of the school resulted in me being told to be more patient. I had actually previously met with the director and been told I was going into a different group, but the day I started classes I was put in another. The school claims to organize social events, teach in a conversation style and personally assess and correctly place each student. None of this is true. When I finally could not take the repetitive learning anymore I wrote to the firector to ask if other options were possible. I received a very rude email in reply.
