I enjoy your site very much, especially the forums. Good work! I was wondering if you knew of any sites that present or talk about the Old Spanish language. I am very interested in knowing more about the structure and sound of Old Spanish. He tratado de encontrar algo parecido, pero no he tenido éxito. Si me puede ayudar en mi búsqueda se lo agradecería muchísimo.

Original answer: Although you're the first person who has asked about Old Spanish specifically, I've had lots of requests for links and info about the history of the Spanish language, and I've had a hard time finding anything online. Probably the best article I've found is one from the Catholic Encyclopedia. I've also come across a small article related on the pronunciation of Old Spanish. I wish I knew of more to help you. Perhaps someone on the bulletin board might be able to help more.

Update: I've spent some more time looking into your question, and I still don't know of many sites in English I can recommend. But there are a number of fairly thorough sites in Spanish. You can find some of them on the History of Spanish page.

Have a question? If you can't find the answer among the FAQ or previously asked questions, feel free to make a query by email. Although you aren't guaranteed a personal response, depending on the volume of mail received, if a question is of general interest, it may be added to the question page. If you need a quicker response, you may be able to get one on the bulletin board.
