In the Mood

If you're a beginning Spanish student, you learn fairly early about a verb's properties such as tense (past, present, future and variations thereof), its person (first, second or third) and number (singular or plural). One of the verb properties you learn later its is mood — a concept that isn't intuitive since it less frequently distinguished in English. The three moods in both languages are the indicative, the subjunctive and the imperative.
