Language may limit influence of Latino culture in U.S.

The latest U.S. Census reports show that the country now has more Hispanics than blacks, making Hispanics the largest minority. Yet blacks are far more prominent in the entertainment media, and few Latino celebrities (with the exception of several singers) have much influence on American pop culture. Why the difference? One reason may be because many Latinos are more comfortable using Spanish than English. So suggests this article from UPI.
