Tres Ríos, Costa RicaMy Review
I highly recommend Personalized Spanish, Costa Rica for those wishing to learn and improve their level of Spanish. Having attended the school on three separate occasions, I am pleased to endorse this school.
Personalized Spanish lives up to its name, and then some. The instruction is extremely personalized to the individual student, which accelerates the learning process. Regardless of level, beginner to the extreme advanced, the school insures the student that time spent at Personalized Spanish is productive, and fun.
Combining different methods of instruction in class with activities outside of class, again individualized, each student remains focused on their own personal learning goals. This may mean spending time at the court house for those studying legal Spanish, working in a clinic for those learning Medical Spanish or spending an afternoon at the Children's Museum for the younger students and the young at heart.
In my opinion, Personalized Spanish caters to the professional and those serious about learning and improving their Spanish. The location is perfect in Tres Rios, far enough away from San Jose to enjoy the peacefulness of Costa Rica and have a quiet place to study, and yet close enough that a short bus ride has you in the heart of San Jose. It is, as the saying goes, the best of both worlds. And, should a student want to take a few weekend excursions to visit other areas of Costa Rica, they have to go no further than the front office of the school, which is very convenient for students wanting to concentrate on learning versus making hotel and transportation arrangements. I have always been very pleased with the travel arrangements made by the school for my weekend getaways.
In closing everyone at Personalized Spanish always exceeds expectations, going above and beyond, and this I believe is due the close involvement the owner, Gaby, has with each student and teacher on a daily basis insuring that the learning experience is personalized and productive.

Always or almost always. What are some pros and cons of the school's location?
There is not much around the school. San Jose, however, is a very short bus ride away, and the school even takes you to San Jose to learn how to use the buses, and the highlights of the city.
