Pronunciación aproximada: soh-PLAHR (The Spanish r here is pronounced with a tap of the tongue against the front of the palate.) Listen
Significado: to exhale, to blow out (a candle or flame), to inflate by mouth, to blow, to squeal, to fan a fire, to whisper, to drink alcohol
Ejemplo: Era una noche de invierno, muy fría; afuera el viento soplaba con furia.
Traducción: It was a very cold winter night. Outside the wind was blowing furiously.
