The feminine form is una, as in the example above. When this word appears before a singular masculine noun, it is shortened to un, again as in the example above. When you are using uno as a pronoun, it can be either masculine or feminine, depending on whether it stands for a word of masculine gender or of feminine gender. The plural form, unos and unas, typically mean "some."
