Perfect Infinitive

Definition: A verbal phrase formed in Spanish by using the unconjugated form of the verb haber followed by a past participle. In English, it is formed in much the same way, but adding the past participle after "to have." It is used to describe actions or reactions to something that has been or will be completed, as the example below shows.
Also Known As: "Compound infinitive" in English, infinitivo compuesto in Spanish.
Examples:
English example (in boldface) and Spanish equivalent: 'Tis better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all. Mas vale haber amado y perdido que no haber amado nunca.
