Usage of gustar

[pronombre de objeto indirecto] alguién gustar algo someone likes something Me gusta el libro. I like the book. (Literally, the book pleases me.)
[pronombre de objeto indirecto] gustar algo a alguién someone likes something (In Spanish, the preopositional phrase is added for emphasis or clarity.) Le gustan los libros a Ana. Ana likes the books. (Literally, the books please Ana.)
[pronombre de objeto indirecto] alguién gustar de algo someone enjoys something Me gusta de las playas. I enjoy the beaches.
gustar algo to taste something No he gustado el pan. I have not tasted the bread.
gustar to please La película gusta. The film is pleasing.
¿Usted gusta? ¿Gusta? Would you like some?
Como usted gusta. Como gustas. As you wish.
Note: The word represented by algo in the above descriptions can be an infinitive. Me gusta el bailar, I like dancing.
