¡Búscalo! (Look It Up!)
Clarkson and Campos
¡Búscalo! (Look It Up!)
by William M. Clarkson and Guillermo Campos

Guide Rating -

Looking for a quick answer to your questions about Spanish? It doesn't get much quicker than this.

The raw information you'll find in Clarkson and Campos' ¡Búscalo! isn't much different than what you'll find in other books. What makes this book so outstanding is its organization. Brief explanations, anywhere from a couple lines to three pages, follow dozens of boldface listings, making this something like a grammatical dictionary.

Want to know about indirect object pronouns, for example? Simply look in the listing under "indirect object pronouns" and read the two-page mini-lesson. And you don't have to look under the correct title either. Listings under "pronouns" and "direct objects" provide cross-references to the information you're looking for.

At just slightly over 200 pages, ¡Búscalo! looks like it might be a lightweight contender for a reference book. But looks can be deceiving. While ¡Búscalo! won't cover extremely obscure points of grammar, it will answer just about anything that will come up for the beginning or intermediate student. And you'll have your answer while you'd still be thumbing through the index of larger competing books.
