If you're ready for a break from the grammar and vocabulary lessons, you're at the right lesson this week.

As you may have noticed from the textbook, the current lesson is on the culture of Mexico. If you're living in the United States and studying Spanish, chances are that the Mexican cutlure is the Spanish-speaking culture you're most familiar with. Many of the Spanish words that have entered English vocabulary came from Mexican Spanish, and various aspects of the Mexican culture also have been popularized in the United States.

For this week's lesson, be sure to read pages 191-5 in the text. For supplementary materials, follow the links in the box at right.

We resume the regular format of lessons next week with a look at demonstrative adjectives.
