Have you ever come across a Web page in Spanish and didn't know what it meant? Or needed a quick translation to or from Spanish? Get quick and free translations on the Web.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 5 minutes
Here's How:
- Take your browser to the Alta Vista translation page at http://babelfish.altavista.com/
- On that page, select the appropriate menu item (such as 'Spanish to English') to indicate the languages you're translating from and to.
- If you want a Web page translated into English, paste the URL into the space provided. Then press the Submit button. A translated version of the page will appear.
- If you want other text translated, paste that text (instead of the URL) into the space provided before pressing the Submit button.
Tips:
- Keep in mind that the translations produced are quite rough, and usually an intermediate Spanish student would do much better.
- When pasting in your own copy, keep in mind that you may be limited to a few paragraphs.
- For an alternate translation, follow the 'Online Translation' link below to find competitors to the Alta Vista site.
