If your answer to any of these questions is sí, you've come to the right place. Throughout this site you'll find hundreds of pages devoted to all aspects of the Spanish, one of only two languages that has more native speakers than does English (Chinese tops the list). You can find lessons, quizzes, games, feature articles, travel advice and more. Here are some tips to getting the most from this site: Search: If you know what you're looking for, usually the quickest way to find it is to use the About search tool. Almost all pages on the site have a search box that will list summaries of pages relevant to the search term you use. What's new: Near the top of the home page are listings under an In The Spotlight heading. Spotlight features range from learning tips to news articles to grammar lessons, and a new one (or an older one that has been updated or improved) is listed nearly every week. Listed below are other recent articles, usually the Question of the Week and a lesson in the Spanish for Beginners series. Past features remain on the site; you can find a reverse chronological listing by clicking on the link called Articles on the heading of most pages. Subjects: Down the left side of most pages is what we at About refer to the Subjects listing. Click on a subject you're interested in, and you'll be taken to a listing of relevant articles. Listed are articles and features from this and other About sites as well as your Guide's personal recommendations of the best the World Wide Web has to offer. Essentials: In the upper left corner of nearly every page is a short list of what we call the Essentials, a quick way to find what's important. These include indices of lessons for beginners and lessons for intermediate and advanced students. Bulletin board: If you want a quick answer to a question, want to help others learn, hope to improve your ability to write in Spanish, or simply enjoy learning about Spanish, you'll enjoy lurking or posting on the forum. Just click on the Forums link included on the headings of most pages, or look near the bottom of many pages (including this one) for a list of current discussion topics. If you wish to post a message, you'll need to register (free); registration isn't required if you merely wish to read messages, although if you register and log in whenever you go to the bulletin board you can get a customized listing of the messages you wish to see. Newsletter: Want to find out what's new on the site? If so, subscribe to the newsletter; links to the subscription form are on most pages. The newsletter for this site usually comes out Wednesdays and includes links to all new content, summaries of bulletin board discussions, site recommendations, and advice about what to see elsewhere on the World Wide Web. A weekend edition is mailed Saturday mornings and usually focuses on forum discussions. Chat: Feel free to enter the chat room at any time to communicate with others in either English or Spanish. Look for links near the bottoms of many pages that can tell you at a glance whether the chat room is being used, or follow the links in the headings of most pages. Words from our sponsors: On most pages you will see advertisements in various formats. Those ads help keep this site free for users.
