Masculine things have masculine gender, and feminine things have feminine gender, right? Not necessarily so, as came out in a recent blog discussion that got into grammatical and biological gender. A good example is the genders used to refer to animals. As our newest lesson points out, a male animal can be referred to by the feminine gender, and the opposite can be true as well.
