In English, it is very common to say that something is 6 feet tall, or that something is 2 inches wide. But you won't make much sense in Spanish if you try translating such statements word for word. As explained in our lesson on dimensions and measurements in Spanish, measurements are usually referred to by using the verbs medir (to measure), ser or tener (to have).
