Haber Often Used for 'There Is' and 'There Are'

Haber is one of the most unusual verbs in Spanish. It is perhaps the only verb whose meaning can change depending on which conjugation is used. In the third-person singular, for example, it can be conjugated as either ha or hay, and the two aren't synonymous.
