Just because resultar has a basic meaning of "to make a result" doesn't mean you should translate it that way to English. As explained in our new lesson on resultar, it can often be translated simply as a variation of "to be," as in the sentence "Me resulta aburrido mencionar lo obvio," which could be interpreted (among other ways) "It is boring to me to mention the obvious." More so than with many verbs, good translations of resultar can vary wildly with context.
