Future Tense Is Easy To Learn

Sunday December 14, 2008
The conjugation of the future tense in Spanish is one of the easiest tenses to learn. The verb endings are placed at the end of the infinitive, so there are few verbs that are irregular in the future. Keep in mind, however, that in conversation many speakers don't use the future tense at all, preferring instead to use a form of "ir a" followed by the infinitive. (That is, they say voy a leer instead of leeré.) It's analogous to the use in casual English of "I'm going to read" instead of "I will read."
