Winning with Ganar

Monday August 18, 2008
If you're playing a sports contest or buying a lottery ticket, one word you might want to be able to use afterward is ganar, as it's the most common Spanish verb for "to win." The same word is used to refer to earning money. One good way to remember this word is that it's related to the English verb "to gain," which makes it a cognate.
