What Do You Intend To Do?

If you were asked to translate a sentence such as "I intend to study" to Spanish, you might be tempted to use the Spanish verb intentar. But, even though "intend" and intentar come from the same the same Latin verb, their meanings are different. Instead, try using a particular phrase using a form of the verb tener.
