Suggestion for learning: YouTube

YouTube, a site that encourages users to share videos, many of them homemade, has become the most popular Web site of its type in not much more than a year since it was founded. While YouTube is mostly about fun, it can be learning tool as well, as one of the readers of this site pointed out in a recent email.

Here's what Joel had to say:

"It seems that sites like youtube.com could be of benefit to people like me who need more exposure to the spoken language. So far I have not found productions that are designed to help learners of Spanish but it seems a very good medium for that purpose.

"In addition to listening to recorded normal conversation, it might even be used with close-ups to show mouth/teeth/tongue positions for some of the letters that seem difficult for English speakers."

I agree, I use YouTube to watch old Mexican Comedy such as chavo del 8(Ocho). I can watch the and hear the characters as many times as I want until I understand what they said, Plus I get the laugh at the same time:)
