Spanish is second language of baseball

Although soccer remains the No. 1 sport in Latin America, in some ways baseball isn't far behind. So popular is baseball among youngsters with Latin American roots that 195 out of 750 players on the opening day of Major League Baseball last year were born with Spanish as their first language.
