Spanish varies a bit from country to country, but not so much that people from, say, Spain can't communicate easily with someone from Uruguay. But that's not true with Spanish sign languages. About's Deafness and Hard of Hearing Guide says that the languages used by the deaf can vary substantially from country to country, and that several Spanish-speaking countries have published their own sign-language dictionaries.
