Spanish radio tops Big Apple's a.m. ratings
Friday January 9, 2004
Howard Stern no longer is the top morning radio host in New York City. The honor now belongs to Luis Jiménez and Ramón "Moonshadow" Broussard. Their Spanish-language show, "El Vacilón de la Mañana" on WSKQ-FM, topped the most recent Arbitron morning radio rankings. Published reports quoted Jiménez as saying that his show isn't tops just because the city's Spanish-speaking population has nowhere else to turn, since about 85 percent of his listeners also understand English.
