Gerald's Spanish Language Blog

By Gerald Erichsen, About.com Guide to Spanish Language since 1998

Bienvenido al blog para estudiantes de la lengua española

Tuesday July 1, 2003
If you're reading this, you've probably noticed the new format for the home page of this site. What you're seeing is a new approach — at least a new approach for us Guides at About. Rather than presenting you with an index of recent articles or other content we wish to promote, we Guides instead are preparing blogs like this. A blog, in case you haven't run across the term often, is something like a frequently updated diary or journal that has the most recent entries at the top.

In some ways, the blogs are a renewed emphasis on the original aim of About — to offer a more personalized approach to helping you find what you're looking for on the Web. In my case, I'll be using this space to let you know about new lessons I've prepared or updated, discussions in the forum, and links to interesting articles about the Spanish language.

Most of the blog entries will be in English like this one, but a few will be in Spanish, usually at an easy-to-moderate level so they can be understood by students of the language. My goal is to encourage learners to enjoy the Spanish language, both through lessons and by directing them to interesting resources I have found.

Incidentally, a blog is known as un blog in Spanish. ¡Espero que disfrute del nuevo formato!

I’ve started a yahoo group for intermediate to advanced speakers and I
thought you might be interested. I think it can be really benificial
to those who are studying castellano. There are vocab lessons,
articles, videos, and some other cool stuff. Check it out:
